Baby Talk Hospital
Thinking of adopting my own baby in a few years?
Would it be possible to go to an actual hospital that delivers babies and talk to them about perhaps connecting me to a pregnant mother that doesn’t want it? I’d rather have a baby straight from the hospital if possible, and that seems like the best way to go about it. Do you think that that is possible?
If you are wanting to adopt a newborn it would be best to go through an agency who will place you with a birthmom. You may have a problem with walking into a maternity ward looking for a kid. Considering there are situations where newborns are kidnapped I wouldn’t suggest trying that, you may get a ride downtown! Good luck!

What would be appropriate in giving a baby shower without the mother?
My daughter had a baby at 24 weeks. This was before the baby shower we had planned. Everyone I talked to said they would get her a gift, but want to see if the baby survives. Happily, the baby is doing well. What would be appropriate? My daughter cannot come to town for a shower, as she lives in another state and needs to be near the hospital where the baby is. But she still needs stuff for when the baby comes home.
I would wait to have a celebration. Maybe set up a drop-in, gift drop-off at your house so people can bring gifts for the baby. Suggest not only gifts for the baby, but also gas gift cards and gift cards to eating places for your daughter while she is in and out of the hospital with the baby. When the baby comes home, she’ll have all of the gifts. And a few months after that plan a celebration for the baby and mommy. Like a cookout or small gathering. That way, your daughter won’t feel like she missed her shower, and she’ll have the joy of having baby there, healthy with her.
