How much thought do you put into what your baby chews on?
I was so scared of toxins and germs before I had my second, now that he here and has been chewing on everything he can get his hands on, I find im less worried, I keep away small things he can choke on, gross things like shoes that I know are full of germs, he really will chew on anything,lol. he loves gnawing away at his plastic books (the ones that go in the tub) straws, any plastic toys, they are all baby toys mind you, but I was reading how alot of kids toys, especially plastic/vinyl ones contain phthalates which over a period of time can cause problems, alot like the BPA ban. I would take them away, but what does it leave for him to play with? theres lead risk with metal toys, they can chew off paper/cardboard things.
Do you put alot of thought into what they are putting in their mouth? any suggestions on ‘safe’ toys? im sure everything has it’s ‘risks’ my main concern was choking, now im getting a little concerned about these phthalates
I used to be really cautious but after three kids you kinda relax a bit because you have two others to look after while trying to look after the little dare devil baby, no really my other two kids were so relaxed and just kinda chilled with me on my lap and gave me hugs, well my last baby is full blast, forget hugs, he loves to hit, pull hair, pinch. And what he puts in his mouth, haha he will find the smallest piece of paper that even I can’t see and stick it in his mouth. But yeah I do buy the BPA free stuff, I only mop with Vinegar and Water, and I do my best to make sure he’s not chewing on something he’s not supposed to.
