When will wild bunnies cover over their holes?
This morning I saw a bunny out my windown in my backyard. I looked down to the ground below the window and there was a large hole–obviously the bunny’s. I tried to shoe the bunny away because I have two dogs and my yard isn’t a safe place for him, but he wouldn’t leave. He sat there for about an hour and I kept trying to make him leave but he wouldn’t. This made me think that he/she has babies in the hole. Then, later on when the bunny was gone I looked at the hole. It is not completely covered over with packed dirt and the grass that was torn up to make the hole is even lying back on the dirt.
I looked around for another entrance to the hole but couldn’t find one. What would make the bunny do this? Did she abandon her babies? It was definitely covered over from the outside.
What happened?
Relax, the rabbit found a patch of earth that smelt and felt right, so it started to dig.
It wasn’t doing anything other than trying to dig a burrow – there are no wee ones or anything buried there.

Look what the cat dragged in… A baby bunny!?
This morning, my cat decided to bring in a baby bunny as a “treat” for us. As of now, the bunny is in a shoe box with a soft cloth. Now, it’s a while later and I’m afraid its hungry. Should I feed it? What am I supposed to do? It is just a baby. I have no idea where my cat got it from or where the mom is. I don’t want to put it outside because it has minor scratches and probably will never find its mom. I know there are wildlife rehabilitators that take care of this but when we called, they didn’t answer. I’m starting to feel really bad for this bunny. Where should I put it? Should I feed it? Should I put it outside? Please help!
Btw, the vet told us they can’t help it because they need a license and that we should call the wildlife people.
They eat carrots and celery but if its a baby maybe you shouldn’t feed it that…. Call a vet, they will know but also when a baby squirrel jumped into my dads boot we fed it milk from a bottle. Warm. But calling the vet is the best thing to do.
