Baby Safe Proofing
My son is all over the place. I need to ‘baby-proof’ my house .. any suggestions?
My son turned 8 months old two days ago. He is crawling (run crawling) and is into EVERYTHING.
He crawls so fast he’s practically running on his knees. Now, he’s learned to pull himself up onto furniture.
We have a glass coffee table and he keeps pulling himself up on it so that he can stand and walk along the edges.
The problem is, the coffee table is very sharp!
I have removed the candles and coasters .. but is there anything I can put on the edges of the coffee table to prevent my son from hitting his head on the sharp edges?
He walks along the furniture (kitchen table, couches, recliner, etc.) and that’s not a problem .. those are safe. I’m just concerned about the edges of the coffee table.
Any suggestions on ‘baby-proofing’ the coffee table to eliminate the sharp edges??

I don’t have a coffee table.
We put everything away that is breakable.
We taught our older son about choking hazards and he keeps his legos in his room and all other things up and out of reach.
If it is on her level it’s for her- and everything on her level is baby safe.
We block the stairs with a pack n play- it fits and it doesn’t mark up the walls.
I got down on her level and picked up all small objects.
Vacuum once a week- on family cleaning day which was today to recheck all objects and make sure it’s safe.
I taped our desk drawers shut- and that is working well.
All lower cupboards in our kitchens and bathrooms are for her basically. She has one of her own and pots and pans are in 2- anything breakable is above and out of reach.
Our laundry room has a shelf up over the washer and dryer- all poisens are on that shelf. The doors to the room close.
If I think of anything else, I’ll add it.
Please make sure YOUR bedroom is baby safe. Do a check each time you put your baby down to crawl. We shut our bathroom door- and the drawer in that bathroom has nothing in it now. *sigh* so much for “extra storage spaces. Lolol!

When did you baby proof your house?
i am 28 weeks pregnant and i was wondering if i should baby proof my house before the baby gets home or should i weight until like 10 months.
i know she wont be able to walk or open anything but it doesn’t hurt to be safe. so when did you women baby proof your house???
would it just be a pain if i do it early? is it hard to baby proof your house?

Don’t do it now. Those little electrical plug covers are a pain in the butt and you don’t want to have to put up with them any longer than you have to. Wait until your baby starts to crawl, which will probably be a good 9 months from now. Even then you’ll still have plenty of enough time to get to it all. Babies don’t just jump up one day and crawl lightening fast toward the outlets! It’s a pretty slow process.
